Can stem cells make you look younger?

Treatment areas on face

One battle that everyone will have to fight sooner or later is the battle against the effects of aging on a patient’s body. These effects are often physical, such as patients becoming weaker or moving slower. Although these can be detrimental to a patient’s life, another aspect they have to consider is the aesthetic aspect of this battle.

As patients age, their bodies accumulate wear and tear and many blemishes and markings that come with age get more prominent and pronounced. One of the most prominent effects that aging has on the body comes in the form of wrinkles.

Why do we wrinkle?

As the body ages, the skin loses some of the materials it needs to stay in its youthful and healthy looking state. These include proteins such as elastin and collagen. The loss of these proteins will begin to show as the skin loses fidelity and begins to give way to wrinkles. These wrinkles can appear in various places and some of these areas can be quite prominent.

One place where patients often find themselves accumulating wrinkles is in their faces. These wrinkles will appear around the mouth, eyes, anf forehead, for example. This is something that everyone has to deal with and because of its prevalence, there are many fixes available for patients who are seeking cosmetic work to correct these wrinkles.

Treatments for Wrinkles

There are a number of cosmetic procedures that seek to help alleviate a patient of the wrinkles that they are dealing with. A patient has varying ways that they can decide to approach the problem, with surgical and non surgical options available. The first way that someone can try to get rid of their wrinkles is with cosmetic products. There are a plethora of cosmetic fixes such as skin creams that work to try to help a patient look better and have less wrinkles. The way these products work, as well as their efficacy, varies wildly on a case by case basis.

First, it depends on the product. The way the product works is important because some are merely covering up the problems and not actually working to solve them. In other cases, the other products will plump up the skin and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This can be an effective method, but only lasts for a limited period of time. Cosmetic products are certainly the most affordable option for patients who want to take care of their wrinkles, but it is also the least effective of all the options.

There is also the added detriment that these products also contaminate the environment. Some studies have shown that many of the pollutants that humans face are not caused by cars or planes, but by cosmetic products and the factories that produce them.

Botox for Wrinkles

The next option for patients is to get Botox. Although its mainstream use has added Botox to the common parlance, many patients do not know what it actually is. Botox is an injectable form of the bacterial toxin botulin. When it is injected throughout the face, it can help a patient to achieve a number of desired aesthetic results. How it works is by paralyzing the muscles in the area where it is injected. This then prevents those muscles from contracting, which can allow for the stoppage of wrinkles because those muscle contractions are an important cause of wrinkling.

After the muscles have been paralyzed, the skin will begin to look much younger and healthier.. The effects of a single Botox treatment can last anywhere from three to six months, at which point it will need to be repeated. Much like cosmetic products, Botox has its drawbacks, mainly muscle weakness, headache, dizziness, and pain. There is also the risk of using Botox too much. Overuse of Botox can cause the muscles to stop working altogether, which generally does not leave a patient with their desired aesthetic results.

Surgery for Wrinkles

A third way that a patient can get younger looking skin is to undergo surgery. There are numerous cosmetic surgeries that a patient can opt to have if they decide that it is the best way to achieve their desired cosmetic results. Procedures like rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, have become very common and mainstream procedures for patients to have done. Surgical means can also be utilized in order to better your skin.

For example, a face lift will help surgically accomplish what Botox does, except it will last for a longer period of time. Although surgery can be very beneficial, it presents many of its own risks as well. These risks include the risk of scarring, the possibility of infection, long recovery times, and the possibility of needing to get work done more than once. Surgery is a long term means for change, but it is not perfect.

Stem Stem Cell Therapy for Wrinkles

These methods are what is currently most common, but they are not the only way for a patient to achieve the physical change in themselves that they desire. Science has a new way that patients can improve their skin and fight back against the effects of aging. patients could use stem cell therapy as a method for cosmetic work. Stem cell therapy provides benefits over all the other methods. Unlike cosmetic creams which often only conceal the problem, stem cell therapy seeks to solve it, negating the need for such creams.

Unlike procedures like Botox, you do not have to take the risk of using a paralytic toxin in your face. Unlike surgery, you do not have to have the long recovery times and possibility for error that exists in surgery. Using stem cells for cosmetic care provides a great alternative because stem cells are proven to increase the vitality of skin and help to improve it overall. If you are looking for ways to fight back against the effects of aging on your skin, then stem cell therapy may be able to provide you with the solutions you are looking for and best of all, these solutions come free of the negatives that all the other methods carry.
